Abstract
AbstractWe analyze the results of our spectroscopic and photometric monitoring of V407 Cyg in 1984–2009. We show that the hot component of V407 Cyg can be in four different states: a passive state (the system looks as an ordinary, non‐symbiotic Mira), a quiescent state (the system looks as a low‐excitation classical symbiotic star), a Z And‐type outburst, and an RS Oph‐type outburst.
