Abstract

Imbalances significantly reduce the efficiency of electric power systems. There are several negative effects of these phenomena, and they have been extensively studied within the scientific community. The accurate determination and measurement of the unbalance power at any point in a power system aids in the elimination of such type of not useful energies. In this study, a new formulation of the phasors of unbalance power in electric systems is presented. The phasors caused by the unbalance current and unbalance voltage are deduced from the expressions of instantaneous power. From them, the total phasor of unbalance power in the system is proposed. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed formulation, a four-wire system formed by two nodes is used.
