Forming the Mental Image of Iraqi Political Forces and Their Implication for the Results of the 2018 Parliamentary Election - A field Study of the Iraqi Elites

Abstract

The interest has been increased in the subject of mental image and its importance for individual and society due to the important role of this image in the information of opinions and decision making and shaping the behavior.The positive image has become as a fundamental goal sought by the state or bodies (establishments) in any field though good performance that is consistent with the needs of masses influential and attested by the policy of the state or establishment.The modern institutions and political leaders realized the importance of studying its prevalent image in the minds of masses at a certain time and taking policies and drawing plans to form this image as desired by these institutions or those elites in the city of Baghdad on the formation of the mental image of the mental image of the Iraqi political power and knowing their cognitive and knowledgeable views on the results of the Iraqi parliamentary elections in 2 years of 2018.Questions as follows:1- What is the structural image of political power among elite audience in the city of Baghdad with regard to political level (knowledge component)?2- What is the role played by political force in the political life to improve its image among the elite audience in the city of Baghdad? (cognitive component).3- What is the image of the political power among the elite audience specialized in the election (behavioral-component)?The research objectives are as follows:1- Identifying the constructing image of the political power of the elite audience in the city of Baghdad regarding the political level.2- Recognizing the role played by the Iraqi political force in political life to improve their image among elite audience in the city of Baghdad.3- To know the image or political force among the elite audience behavior in particular.The method used in this research is the field survey method in which the research sought to provide the broad base and factual information to answer questions by identifying the formation of mental image of Iraqi political power and its impact on the results of parliamentary election in 2018.As for the research sample, the researcher used the deliberate sample by selecting the sample items in the light of certain character and attributes, as such as follows (200) sample from Iraqi elites Baghdad city, (50) samples as university professors (50) samples from media scoop (50) samples from of religious people (50) samples as some military leaders.The tool of researcher was a measurement form for the Iraqi political force.The high light conclusions of the researcher in shaping the mental image of the Iraqi political force and its reflections on the results of Iraqi parliament elections in 2008 as follows:1- It is clear out of the trends of Iraqi elites on political force in building its image that it didn’t come to stand with the people and support them and achieve their ambitions in providing jobs and eradicate poverty and unemployment, but their concerns were based on seeking for power by any means to achieve financial and political gains at the expense of Iraqi citizens.2- It is clears from the point of view of the Iraqi elite in the methods and practices of the political force its dealings with the government and parliament were frustrated in achieving civil and community peace and the political forces will not play its leading role in exposing corruption in the government and parliament institution.
