Abstract

Last time, considerable attention is paid to the study of non-traditional reservoirs of hydrocarbons. Of great importance is the issue of oil and gas bearing of deep horizons (more than 5.0 km), volcanic and volcanic-sedimentary reservoirs. But their genesis and formation affiliation, ways of filling with hydrocarbons are not fully explored. Investigation of volcanic and volcanic-sedimentary strata until recently was carried out, mainly, in terms of clarifying the general orientation of the evolution of volcanism within different tectonic areas and the identification patterns of the formation of certain types of deposits of solid minerals. At the moment, these formations are increasingly attracting the attention of oil geologists in connection with the accumulation of data on the confinement of industrial deposits of oil and gas to them. The basis of research is the data of detailed mineralogical and petrographic study of rocks of volcanic, volcanic-sedimentary complexes of Ukraine. The research of collectors by the method of point electromagnetic sounding for the establishment of migration paths has been carried out. Methods of generalization of geological and geophysical data were used, as well as changes in petrological characteristics of collectors in different regions of Ukraine. On the territory of Ukraine, the connection between oil and gas with volcanogenic strata was detected in the Western and Eastern oil and gas regions. A similar connection, we can predict for the Southern oil and gas region and for the shelf of the Black and Azov Seas. Based on petrographic studies of volcanogenic rocks as oil and gas collectors, it is expedient to divide them into three main groups (genotypes): volcanogenic (effusive), volcanic-sedimentary and intensively modified by secondary processes. The work gives a detailed description of all three genotypes.
