Abstract
A three-dimensional supramolecular water architectures: [Ni(phen) 3](C 10H 16O 4) · (C 10H 18O 4) 0.5 · 11H 2O ( 1) [phen = 1,10-Phenanthroline, C 10H 16O 4 = sebacic dianion, C 10H 18O 4 = sebacic acid] has been synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffractions. 1D water chains behave as pillars to join these water sheets to make an overall three-dimensional supramolecular architecture by hydrogen-bonding interactions.
