Abstract

The technology for producing cast intermetallic alloys of the Fe—Al system by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis from precursors in the form of a composition consisting of aluminum wire pressed with a thermite coating mixture of iron minium and aluminum powder is considered. The features of the phase composition of the obtained specimens with various aluminum contents are established. Keywords intermetallic compound, aluminum, iron, iron oxide, remelting, self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, thermite mixture
