Abstract
The formation of long-lived negative ions has been studied by the method of crossing beams of (N2)N, (CO2)N, (N2O)N, and (H2O)N clusters and electrons. Clustered beams are formed from a central stream-line of a free jet. The absolute cross sections for the negative ion formation σ − in dependence on electron energy Ee and mean cluser size \( \bar N \)in the range 0 003C Ee 003C 100 eV and 10 003C \( \bar N \) 003C 2–103 were received. The non-dissociative attachment of electron at Ee 0 eV was observed for all clusters; and also for (CO2)N, (N2O)N, (H2O)N clusters the presence of resonance peaks of dissociative attachment was detected.
