Abstract

Special features in the formation of mesoferrite and granular bainite in low-carbon low-alloy steels are considered. A diagram of isothermal decomposition of austenite in steel 20Kh2NAch is plotted and the range of existence of mesoferrite is determined. Morphological differences between the granular intermediate structure formed in the isothermal decomposition of supercooled austenite in the intermediate temperature range and the granular bainite formed in the decomposition of austenite in continuous cooling are determined. The role of mesoferrite in the formation of these structures is considered.
