Abstract
The article attempts to rethink the Russian historiosophical heritage, which, according to the authors, can ensure the development of science in an original way. The purpose of the study is to clarify the national "coordinate system of historical time", the task is to identify the peculiarities of the interpretation of the past and the present in the Russian tradition. Historical and moral progress is based on a sense of mis(matching) of contemporaries to their ancestors, heroized in memories and legends. Development is unthinkable without continuity, but it should be the continuity of creativity, not causality. The authors are convinced that only this method will ensure progress without interrupting the connection of time and thereby ensuring historical responsibility.
