Abstract

The processes of ignition and combustion of an electric arc during the formation of hardening composite coatings by the method of carbide vibro-arc hardening (CVAH) are investigated. It is established that an increase in the electric field intensity during CVAH can be achieved by minimizing the acceleration of the carbon electrode during its oscillations. The rational mode of the CVAH is determined. Keywords: composite coating, carbide vibro-arc hardening, arc ignition, combustion, carbon electrode, intensity, multicomponent paste.
