Abstract
This article discusses the experience of forming the civic qualities of today’s youth. Citizenship and socially significant qualities have become more relevant than ever before in the light of recent political events. In the article, the author relies on the works of both the classics of Soviet and Russian Pedagogy, as well as the latest works of scientific teachers devoted to the problem of socially significant civic qualities of young people. Various positions are considered in relation to the category of citizenship, the relationship between the terms citizenship and patriotism is determined. The definition of the category “citizenship” and the essential content of this category are given. Civic qualities, in our opinion, characterize the ability of an individual to actively manifest their civic position through socially significant, practice-oriented activities. The experience of conducting an acceleration program for the development of socially oriented student initiatives is analyzed. Within the framework of project-educational intensives, a full cycle of search, selection, evaluation, examination, support and monitoring of projects takes place. The influence of participation in the acceleration program, development of project ideas, discussion and presentation of projects, as well as the implementation of projects on the degree and level of civic consciousness of student youth is studied using the example of an experimental group of students who participated in the accelerator of student projects. The structure of the acceleration program is considered, the stages of implementation are determined, and examples of specific student projects are given. The practice of holding events aimed at the formation of civic qualities of student youth is generalized. The results of the survey materials of the control and experimental groups are presented and analyzed. The recommendations are given for the further systematic implementation of project-educational intensives, acceleration programs aimed at the development and implementation of student projects and the development of student citizenship.
