Abstract
We formed Au electrodes on the cleaved surfaces of 80K-phase Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O (BSCCO) single crystals, and investigated the effect of the surfaces on the contact resistance between Au electrodes and BSCCO single crystals. From the results, we found that the contact resistance decreased by forming Au electrodes on the clean surface of the BSCCO single crystals and was strongly sensitive to the chemical bond natures of the constituent elements of the surface.
