Abstract

Abstract PZT piezoceramics were prepared by the evaporation of PbO on the ZrTiO4 ceramic substrate at high temperature. The formation of PZT was investigated as a function of unreacted ZrO2 and TiO2 remaining on the substrate after calcining. Studies were emphasized on the electrical properties after PZT was formed on the substrate. It revealed that PZT was easily fabricated using this PbO evaporation technique. But, at higher temperature, cracks would be formed on the substrate surface. Cracks could be prevented by sintering below 1200 °C for 2h. The electrical properties of PZT formed on ZrTiO4 by this method will be presented.
