Abstract

The lack of interest in the history of the african descendants in the brazilian educational system is remarkable, by the clear attempt of erasing the Law n. 10.639/03 with the emergency of the Law n. 11.645/08 and by the indifference in the undergraduate and in-service education in the training of professionals who recognize the african legacy in the civilizing process of humanity, as they do not instill in them the knowledge of the real- ity and meaning of the african descent and the philosophy and culture of african origin. The text aims at revealing the pedagogical practices in the discipline History of the african descendants in brazil in the Course of Pedagogy to obey the Law n. 10.639/03. For that it is important to highlight the clear and historical lack of interest of the brazilian govern- ment in training teachers with a good knowledge of the history of africans and of brazilian african descendants. The methodology will be focused in the presentation of the absence of teachers training in the brazilian educational reforms, in the description of the discipline History of the african descendants in brazil, in the how it has been taught and in the how the students perceive it. The theoretical approach is that of the african descent and of the educational evaluation. The results point to the perplexity of the students as they face the history of blacks in brazil. The conclusion is that the pedagogical practice involved both an intrinsic and an extrinsic reflection in the students about themselves and their social role.
