Abstract

AbstractThis article analyses data collected from employers as part of the 1993 Training Expenditure and 1994 Training Practices Surveys conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) with a view to: quantifying the extent of formal training in small firms as compared with larger business; identifying factors that influence formal training provision and how the significance of these factors varies with firm size; and identifying obstacles to the provision of formal training in small business.
