Abstract

Haouamine A is isolated from the marine ascidian Aplidium haouarianum and exhibits selective cytotoxicity against the human colon carcinoma cell line HT-29 (IC50 = 0.1mg/mL). This formal synthesis primarily uses catalytic reactions to access intermediate L, previously reported by P. S. Baran and co-workers Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2008, 47, 205 (10 steps, 5.6%).
