Abstract
Abstract Knowledge of foreign languages and in particular of English is an indispensable part of the modern world. And the only way to bring Turkish up to the level of the communicational requirements of the modern world is through the interaction of knowledge of English with the derivational convenience provided by the Turkish language reform. Therefore, we aimed to have a look at English in the educational system in Turkey by focusing on its past and current status and discussed its future importance as a world language in our country.
