Abstract

In this study, forced convective flow of nanofluids over a horizontal flat plate with convective boundary condition and a heated line source which are immersed in a Darcy porous medium is analyzed. For both cases, by taking suitable similarity variables, the governing partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and exact analytical solutions are obtained for these ODEs. For both cases, the impact of nanoparticles volume fractions, the porosity of the porous medium, the thermal conductivity of the porous medium and the types of nanoparticles on the heat transfer of nanofluids are investigated, while the effect of a convective heating parameter (Nc) on the heat transfer of nanofluids is solely conducted for horizontal plate.
