Abstract

Debate concerning the indication for removal of impacted third molars has been ongoing issue in the literature for many years. Justification for and against prophylactic removal of asymptomatic impacted third molars has lead the growing confusion in the mind of the dental practitioners. The follicles around these teeth has the potential to develop pathological lesions. This paper presents the incidences of pathological finding in cases treated for removal of third molars as a follicullar tissue and a case report of a cyst developing in asymptomatic follicular tissue in a 57-year-old man
