Abstract

Abstract Soybeans were drill planted on 8 Jun in a commercial field near Craddockville, VA (Accomack County). Each plot consisted of a 25 ft X 5 ft strip, bordered on each side by a 2 ft wide buffer strip. Treatments were replicated 4 times in a RCB. Sprays were applied with a 3 flat fan nozzle boom backpack sprayer delivering 37 gpa at 40 psi. On 9 Jul, the entire test except for the buffer strips was sprayed with 1.00 lb(AI)/acre of Sevin XLR in order to kill any predators and thus insure a uniform mite population. The treat-ments were applied on 16 Jul.
