Abstract

Abstract The experiment was conducted on ‘Davis’ soybean near St. Gabriel, Iberville Parish, La. plots, each measuring 50 ft by 8 rows (36-in. row spacing) were arranged in a randomized block design with 4 replications. Two rows were used as a buffer zone between blocks. The plots were treated on 27 Sep. when the plants were at the R6 growth stage. Treatments were applied with a CO2 pressurized backpack sprayer equipped with Teejet 8002 nozzles. At 30 lb/in , the sprayer delivered 15.5 gal of finished formulation/acre. Treatments were evaluated at 2, 5, 7, and 15 days posttreatment by comparing the number of threecornered alfalfa hoppers (TCAH), velvetbean caterpillar (VBC), southern green stinkbug (SGS), and banded cucumber beetles (BCB) caught in a 38 cm diameter sweep net utilizing 50 sweeps per plot. Data were subjected to analysis of variance.
