Abstract
The theory of X-ray propagation through tapered waveguides is developed. Expressions are obtained for the ultimate gain in the flux density of X-ray radiation, taking into account losses in waveguide walls. Experiments are carried out with both the dihedral and the conical waveguide, and a considerable gain in the flux density of radiation is observed.
