Abstract
A Fock space operator formulation of Chern-Simons-Witten theories is presented, and its connection with the usual holomorphic quantization is established. The conformal blocks are obtained as projections of suitable states on a Fock vacuum. We study in detail the abelian case and sketch its extension to non-abelian groups where the powerfulness of the formalism to compute the corresponding WZW conformal blocks on arbitrary Riemann surfaces is emphasized.
