Abstract

Somewhere between the heavens and earth attic spaces are found. These spaces are often subject of contrived memories reflecting the past or idealized as a nostalgic spectacle. This conversion succeeds through the act of doing as little as possible, minimalism, as an act of restraint not style. Accessed via a well concieved stair reveals a windowless space which gains natural light via chimneys reworked as lightwells into a single volume roof space which has simply been tidied up. Nothing more, nothing less.
