Abstract
This paper describes a new method of light scattering spectroscopy which involves modulation of the optical frequency of a cw laser. The experiments are shown to yield accurate Raman data while suppressing sample luminescence and reducing contamination by background laser luminescence. The laser FM technique also shows promise for studying certain properties of luminescing systems.
