Abstract
Flux stability was studied for NdFeB magnets consolidated by direct joule heating from a mixture of anisotropic and isotropic powders. Addition of anisotropic powder beyond 70% degraded the short-term stability as well as the long-term stability significantly. The magnetic after effect constant did not depend on the fraction of anisotropic powder. Thus, the long-term stability can be estimated by measuring the irreversible susceptibility.
