Abstract

Objective To analyze the relationship between FLT3 gene and FLT3 gene internal tandem duplication mutation (FLT3/ITD) with Mongolian adult acute leukemia, and explore the significance of FLT3 gene and FLT3/ITD in diagnose and genotyping of acute leukemia. Methods PCR was used to detect the FLT3 gene and the FLT3/ITD in 56 Mongolian adult acute primary leukemia patients and 10 Mongolian adult acute non-leukemia patients. Results The expression of FLT3 gene was detected in 70.7 (29/41) primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cases and 19.5% (8/41) was found with FLT3/ITD mutation.FLT3 gene expression in 15 primary acute lymphoblastie leukemia (ALL) was also found a high level of 60.0% (9/15).FLT3/ITD mutation was not found in ALL patients. There was no FLT3 gene expression in control grope. Conclusion For a high level of the FLT3 gene expression in Mongolian adult acute leukemia,FLT3 gene detection might be helpful for diagnosing acute leukemia.FLT3/ITD mutation might be helpful to identify the genie characterization of acute leukemia.
