Abstract
A procedure was developed for the flow-injection spectrophotometric determination of trace antimony in natural waters. The flow extraction preconcentration step involved the extraction of antimony(V) complex associates with basic dyes in an extraction–chromatographic column and the chromatomembrane separation of the extract from the aqueous phase. The detection limit was 1 μg/L for a 20-mL sample using a (1 : 5) methyl isobutyl ketone–carbon tetrachloride mixture as an extractant.
