Abstract
Heat transfer, critical heat flux and pressure drop at flow boiling of nitrogen have been studied experimentally in a smooth horizontal copper tube with 14 mm i.d. The main influence parameters could be varied within the following range:heat flux210 W/m2 < ġ < 100 000 W/m2mass velocity44 kg/m2s m < 450 kg/m2sreduced pressure0,034 < pr < 0,93flow quality0 < x 1The purpose of this study is, to give a summary of our observations and to verify, whether recommended equations for heat transfer and pressure drop show satisfying agreement with the measured data.
