Abstract

Laurence Constant-Ancet, Félix Lepeletier de Saint-Fargeau : an ambiguous historical personality. Laurence Constant-Ancet resumes the biography of Félix Lepeletier de Saint-Fargeau after the shock which determined his abrupt revolutionary engagement : the assassination of older brother. Belonging to a prestigious family provided Lepeletier with protection. This permitted him ever since, until his death in 1837, to surmount the multiple prosecutions, exiles, stays in prison which should have been the result of a constant fidelity to Jacobinism.
