Abstract
Flea infestations are increasingly common in today's centrally heated, carpeted homes. The consequences of fleabites vary: sometimes they are a minor nuisance, but on occasion they can cause allergic reactions and infections. This article uses a case study approach to outline how an 86-year-old woman was treated for infected fleabites and how her home and pet were treated to eliminate a flea infestation.
