Abstract
A kinetic equation for the spectrum of random surface gravity waves, describing the spectral energy transfer over the spectrum, due to the combined effects of four- and five-wave weakly non-linear interactions has been developed. Equation kernels are given in the explicit form for a fluid of finite depth. It is noted that five-wave interactions break the wave conservation law inherent to the four-wave kinetic equation.
