Abstract
<p indent=0mm>Chemical biology division has begun to evaluate projects as an independent discipline in National Natural Sciences Foundation of China (NSFC) since 2017. Chemical biology has developed into a mature discipline after five years development. This paper briefly summarized the adjustment of application code for optimization of discipline layout, and interpreted the connotation of new application code in 2021. Furthermore, the development of chemical biology and the change of the research team in China in the past five years were dissected by collecting the application and funding of various projects, including a chemical biology related major research plan. The future development plans were suggested, combining the 14th Five-Year Plan and the medium- or long-term plan for chemical biology.
