Abstract

The osteo-chondral complex represents a morphological-functional unit which plays a key role in the biomechanics of the articular cartilage and the subchondral bone. The understanding of the physiological and pathological basis of this anatomical region is crucial for the correct evaluation of cartilage lesions and ultimately for a proper therapeutic plan.
