Abstract

Abstract The toxicity effects of raw and treated textile wastewater on Nile water fish has been investigated. Results showed that the average median tolerance limit of raw wastewater was 14.8% after 96 hour. Toxicity effects on fish were also detected after chemical treatment of wastewater using lime. Biological treatment of wastewater of a 1:1 mixture of textile wastewater and domestic sewage via the completely mixed activated sludge process, eliminated the toxicity effects on fish.
