Abstract
The process of IR (1064 nm) and green (532 nm) sum-frequency light generation in a single mode fiber is described for the first time to our knowledge. Creation of non-linear active defects by multiphoton absorption, and grating-induced phase-matching are at the basis of the existence of a second-order non-linear coefficient. This study suggests that most of second-order type non-linear phenomena could be obtained in the same way.
