Abstract

In this current manuscript focus is on catalytic efficiency of CuS nanoparticles (NPs). CuS NPs acts as equally outstanding photocatalyst for both cationic and anionic dye. In the process of degradation of both dyes, the catalytic efficiency of CuS NPs is examined by analysing the change in absorption peak of dye by using UV–visible spectrophotometer. The consequence of factors like dopant dose, initial pH of dye solution and initial concentration of dye on photocatalytic efficiency of CuS NPs was explored. CuS NPs demonstrated brilliant degradation of both dyes in presence of UV– visible irradiations. Pseudo-first order kinetics is followed by the degradation process. The velocity constant for both process were productively calculated. Reusability experiments of CuS Nps were conducted to check their utility. Value of rate constant for photocatalysis is high.
