Abstract
Tea-oil tree(Camellia oleifera), one of the most important ligneous edible trees,is native to China. In August 2016, infected leaves of Ca. oleifera with symptoms of anthracnose were obtained from tea-oil tree plantations in Changsha city of China (28°06′N; 113°02′E). The centers of the lesions were gray-white with purple-brown borders, surrounded by a yellowish green halo where black dots would appear later. Colletotrichum sp. was isolated and cultured on solid medium PDA from surface-disinfected (75% ethanol) leaf samples. A pure culture of isolate HUNTJLYC8 was obtained using the single-spore isolation method and cultured on PDA. Colonies on PDA were grey in surface and dark brown in reverse. The average mycelial growth rate was 9.2 mm per day (n=7). Conidia were aseptate, cylindrical, hyaline, straight, obtuse apex, with a d...
