Abstract

The general population's lack of knowledge about the procedure for fighting the fire principle and the unattractive way in which this procedure is presented are factors that interfere in the prevention culture in Brazil. Thus, this article presents a study on Fire In Rio, a serious game that allows the user to learn the basic procedures of fighting the fire principle, as it is a playful reproduction of a training. The methodology used was the case study. In data collection, questionnaires were applied and the Cafe Torrado tutorial phase of the game was used. Among the phases of the methodological path, the evaluation stands out, which made it possible to identify and analyze the level of learning acquired resulting from the use of the learning object - Fire in Rio, during an experiment carried out in a Higher Education Institution, located in the State of Rio of January. The results allowed to infer that the game has more educational aspects than that of a simple game for fun, as it was effective as a learning object in the teaching and learning process, according to the excellent performance of the two participating groups, which obtained higher success rates. 80% in each objective foreseen in the tutorial phase.
