Abstract

The flexural toughness of 24 steel fiber reinforced concrete beams was analyzed by finite element software ABAQUS, and the corresponding cracking strength, ultimate load, flexural toughness index, and failure mode were obtained. At the same time, the effects of four types of steel fiber are shear type, milling type, copper plating type, end hook type. And six kinds of steel fiber volume content are 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%,1.0% and 1.2% on the flexural toughness were studied. The analysis results show that incorporating steel fiber can significantly improve the flexural ultimate bearing capacity of steel fiber reinforced concrete beams, inhibit the development of cracks and improve the flexibility of steel fiber reinforced concrete beams. With the increase of the volume content of steel fiber, the ultimate bearing capacity of the specimen also gradually increases. Accordingly, the bending toughness is improved. The effect of steel fiber type on ultimate bearing capacity and flexural toughness of steel fiber reinforced concrete beams is not apparent.
