Abstract

Pressure vessels are broadly utilised in thermal, nuclear, process and chemical industries, in the pharmaceutical, food and drink industry. The lack of a vessel can lead to deaths, health risks and damage to property. Metal pressure vessels are readily rusted due to the environment. Therefore, the material become weak and tensile strength will reduce. So, they may undergo bursting at high internal pressure. The metallic pressure vessels have low strength to weight ratio. Due to its unique qualities, such as a high strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance, composite pressure vessels are employed in a wide range of applications. The use of composite pressure vessels has increased accordingly. In this work FEA methods are used for finding bursting pressure of FRP pressure vessel. The finite element analysis is performed using ANSYS with the given conditions of pressure and parameters considered.
