Abstract
Taking the brake shoe of a drum brake as the research object, Pro/E software was used to establish a three dimension model of the brake shoe of drum brake. The brake shoe model was imported into ANSYS Workbench software platform. Add reasonable loads and constraints to model of brake shoe, statics and modal analysis were performed. Obtain the distribution of the deformation and equivalent stress of the brake shoe and the first 6 natural frequencies and mode shapes. Based on the results of static and modal analysis, the topology optimize is carried out. The natural frequency of brake shoe is improved by finite element analysis and structural improvement. The research work realizes the optimization design for brake shoe and guarantees its strength and stiffness. It can provide technical information and reference for similar products finite element analysis and optimization design.
