Abstract

It was found that martensite crystals consist of fragments with a size of several hundred microns. Within the fragments one observes a dislocation network formed by two systems of parallel dislocations of types a/2 〈111〉 and a 〈100〉, the density being at least 1011 cm−2 even for martensite of the steel with 0.28% C.
