Abstract

Field tests of a CDMA based mobile radio system was conducted jointly by DeTeMobil and QUALCOMM, INC. In Munster, Germany. Tests were conducted in the 1.7 GHz frequency band, under a variety of conditions, including different terrains and vehicle speeds, as well as in both single cell and hand-off coverages. The performance of the system was evaluated both subjectively using audio parameters, as well objectively, using frame error rates. General system performance under different coverage situations are represented, together with an analysis of the performance of the system with respect to both signal strength and vehicle speed. The indoor performance and interference characteristics of the test system are also presented. Finally, the audio performance of the system is presented. >
