Abstract
Ischemia creates a microcosm of derangement in the physiology of tissue healing. In particular, the epithelialization and proliferation phase of wound regeneration are susceptible to chronic ischemic conditions such as in diabetes and atherosclerotic disease. Induction of endothelial cells has been known to rescue tissue from situations of chronic ischemia based on recent report from our lab. This induction can also be performed via tissue nano-transfection (TNT). TNT consists of two novel components: a nonviral nano-based chip that directly delivers cargo to the cell and the cargo itself, capable of somatic differentiation.
