Abstract

In this study, we developed a Fabry–Perot (FP) interference temperature sensor comprising a glass capillary and a graded-index (GI) fiber for cryotherapy. The sensor comprises a single-mode fiber attached to a glass capillary with a GI fiber. This structure can selectively enhance the specific FP interference and has a large extinction ratio. The sensor demonstrates excellent characteristics from 50 °C to −43 °C with a linear relationship between temperature and dip wavelength.
