Abstract

Terrain is the most critical factor in the prediction of radio wave propagation. Using software predicts radio wave propagation produces large calculation and low speed. Approximate techniques are proposed here for ray-tracing systems used to predict radio propagation. In this paper, two-dimensional discrete FFT of the terrain and filter smoothing are studied. It is shown that within the allowed computational accuracy range filter smooth processing can be adopted to improve the calculate speed. These results can be used in optimization for the radio wave propagation prediction.
