Abstract

This paper presents a novel three-dimensional (3-D) hybrid model for the prediction of radio wave propagation when the transmitter is mounted on a complex platform. The Method of Moments-Physical Optics (MoM-PO) technique is used to consider the effect of mutual coupling between the antenna and near-source objects on the radiated field. The 3-D Parabolic Equation (PE) is used to consider the influence of large-scale complex environment on the radio propagation. In addition, the data conversion and transfer between the two algorithms are completed by setting an interface. The effectiveness of this model is verified by comparing the numerical simulation results with the results obtained from the MoM-PO algorithm.
