Abstract

Men are responsible for a majority of the enrollment declines at colleges and universities — particularly at four‐year institutions. That finding comes from a recently released report by the Pew Research Center, which found that men's enrollment at colleges and universities has been declining over the past decade, with recent numbers down 1.2 million from its peak in 2011. Only 0.2 million fewer women are enrolled in college than peak 2011 numbers.
