Abstract

A 13-year-old primigravida underwent ultrasound assessment at 24+4 weeks’ gestation. In the fetal head, echogenic areas were seen in the right frontal lobe adjacent to the lateral ventricle (Figure 1). MRI confirmed that this was an intraparenchymal hemorrhage (Figure 2). Labour was induced at 26+4 weeks, and a stillborn male fetus was delivered. Autopsy confirmed a large right-sided subacute ganglionic eminence hemorrhage involving the parenchyma in the parietal and posterior frontal regions.
